My car was broken into and my spare keys were taken?

num1huckfinn	depending on the make and model of car, it could be as simple as taking you car to your dealer and having a new key made and programmed into the pcm/computer. Most newer model cars have a computer chip built into the keys and have to be programmed to the car. Look into this for your car, good luck. bostonianinmo	If this is a late model car, just take it to the dealer and have the dealer reset the anti-theft system so those keys won't work. That won't keep them from opening the door but it will keep the key-fob transmiters from working and prevent them from stealing the car by starting it with those keys and driving off with it. Ideally you should get your car's locks changed. This will probably cost a few hundred to have all the locks changed and new keys made. This would be covered under your comprehensive insurance. hittin' switches	if i were you i would go and purchase a club or some other type of steering wheel lock so that regardless weather or not they get into the car they would be able to start it but not get anywhere with it,and have that on the steering wheel untill you have the door locks and ignition changed as well as the trunk lock. investing into an alarm system is a smart idea too. doanel	Why in the world would you keep your extra keys IN THE CAR? Anyway, better go to the dealer or a repair shop and get your ignition switch changed. The switch and two new keys will cost around 100.00 (in my city anyway for an older car). Was this answer helpful to you? Yes / No
