Wal	In my opinion they are nothing more than ways of making money for the councils who put them up, IF they really deterred speeding then they would not be so profitable, I think they are one of the most disgusting ways to rob the public I know. Was this answer helpful to you? Yes / No

a new me UK	Judging by some of the replies to your question - people believe it to be an unfair tax on them - they are wrong, it is not a tax (fair or otherwise) on them UNLESS they are breaking the law. Fred C	So you figure you should be able to decide when to break the law without anybody bothering you? How about certain times of day when it is okay to shoplift at certain stores without being arrested? How about it being okay to sell drugs to people who are already addicts? Tracey R	I agree speed kills but I do feel that more resources are given to catching speeding motorists than walking the beat and putting the respect back into this country that I have watched decline in the last 20 years. I recently spoke to an old lady that had to wait 2 days for a policeman to visit after a burglary. Was this answer helpful to you? Yes / No

I got wood	I have no problem with speed cameras it's the speed limits that is the issue 70mph on a motorway in a modern car, I belive its time it was raised to 80mph the 70mph limit was set when cars struggled to reach 70mph. Perhaps a more just points and fine system should be introduced say percentage over the limit x 2 = fine you pay. I got 3 points and I think a £60 fine for 82mph on the motorway at 5.30 on a sunday morning, I think the police car was the only other car on the road Was this answer helpful to you? Yes / No

telboy everton forever	well they dont really bother me as i never speed ,but i do understand what you mean as they are a money gradding service that we really do not need ,the motorists is an easy target for the government to get more money from Was this answer helpful to you? Yes / No

Pumpkin Head	I'm in the U.S. and we have the cameras mounted on top of the red lights. They take your pic. if your'e approaching the red light too fast. Anyway, I think they are ridiculous. I hate bullcrap like that. Was this answer helpful to you? Yes / No

grenmatta	Using cameras as a money-grabbing method like this just gives the anti-camera lobby more to moan about. I'm all for cameras if they are used properly - as a deterrent to speeding in areas such as schools, hospitals, badly designed junctions etc. Drivers caught speeding in this sort of situation should be heavily fined for the first offence and banned on the second. If they still don't learn, take away their vehicle and crush it while they watch. (If they are driving somebody else's car, crush it anyway and let the owner deal with them) P.S.
