No, but the warehouse you want to work at will either want you to have experience or training. Usually they will want you to be 18, sometimes 21 or older. Depending on their insurance companies policys. Lots of liability in fork lift use. Plenty can go wrong.

Not unless for some reason, you would be operating it on public streets.

In regular warehouse operations, some states my require a forklift license, or certification. Companies can require training or certification even in states that don't require it, if they choose.

depends on where you work and the type of insurance they have and what they require, osha regulation most places, most have in house lift traning and certification

You do not need a car licence but you must pass a recognised course such as CRTB. This is a valid reach/counterbalance licence for 3 years at which time it must be renewed. Alternatively, some employers have "in house" licences whereby you are trained by somebody on site but can only drive designated machinery on that site.

To drive forklift trucks within a private area, such as a company, to be insured, I think you'd require a special type of licence for various purposes and to comply with health and safety legislation.

First of all, you might have to be of "legal age" to work anywhere because of Compensation laws, etc.
You might also have to take a course in the safe operation of these forklifts. That would depend on where you live.
As far as having a Driver's Licence is concerned, you wouldn't be driving one on the road in many places, but once again, check with potential employers when you apply for a job.

I don't think so if you drive it in a store or any private property.
Howevr , the place that you work at should give you some lessons for your safety and the safety of others.

In the UK you do not need to hold a car driving licence to drive a fork lift truck on private property - warehouse etc. My son - in -law does not drive, but holds certificates for counter balance, reach and narrow aisle fork lifts, plus LLop and other ride on pallet trucks, all earned at his current job. Some companies will acknowledge others certificates if current, but will insist on retraining when up for renewal

No you don't need a drivers license for a fork truck, you need a fork truck license to operate it. I taught forktruck safety for 10 years at home depot.

In My state You ARE required to have a drivers licence to operate a forklift legally, as well as a 4 hour training course to become qualified along with actual time training actually using the machines that you would be using in the course of your day working. In Many places, Forklifts ARE used on Public streets , as well as Parking lots .and transit between "yards" in various types of factory settings, Lumber yards etc.... Training and knowledge are an important part of knowing the machines Lifting and carrying Capacity Load center of gravity and machines center of gravity which changes with every load... as well as boom reach capacity.
Over the years, I have worked in Lumber yards, Masonary and stone yards with machines of various sizes and capacities as well as fish packaging and other applications

In todays world we have numerous differant configurations of forklifts from farm tractors and masonary or construction tractor style to a bobcat with forks and Wheeled loaders with forks.. to huge forklifts larger then a wheeled loader, way to many configurations to just allow anyone with no idea how to drive to operate...

I worked in one Lumber yard that all trucks were loaded and unloaded on the street and framing lumber comes as long as 22 foot long units typicallyfor what they carried normally..

Yes you need to get a fork lift license. It isn't special, but it just means that either your employer or yourself need to "fork" out the money to go on the course to have the practical exam and the written exam.

you dont need an ordinary driver one but you need a FORK LIFT one.
If you drive on the road then you need a drivers licence to cover you for the weight of fork lift as a goods Vechile and it comes under all the laws that a goods Vechile are restricted by you are responsible by law if you have an accident if you have not got a FORK LIFT licence you could be sued as the insurance will not cover you under the new requirements for fork lift drivers

You need a certificate to say that you are able to drive fork lifts. You have to have training and take a test to get the certificate. Enquire at a job centre about this. At the moment, there is a long waiting list for this course. No one will employ you on fork lifts without this certificate.

You need a special license to operate a hi-lo/forklift even the kind you walk behind. You have to have training and take a test, but I do not think that you need a regular driver's license.
