Some do but most don't. It is hard to stick it to you like glue if they cannot see your face, and you tell them someone borrowed your car! Tell them it is a Mexican that was working for you, and you have no clue where he is now.

In Australia, only dangerous intersections have red light and speed cameras. These are distinctively seen near some lights as they both are attached high upon poles. Usually, the cameras activate 1.5 seconds after a red light. If you can see camera well high upon the traffic lights, these are usually not speed or red light cameras. These cameras are cameras that scan the current intersection incase there are any accidents involved. If it's a small intersection, it would most likely these cameras don't exist. If you didn't see a flash either, you may be safe.
Now onto the fines. Again, in Australia, fines would come in your letterbox around 3 weeks. If its not in within the 3 weeks, you would be lucky you didn't get caught. If you did get a fine, then tough luck. You would get around 3 demerit points taken off your licence. If you are a new driver, you would have 4 demerit points. One more traffic offence and you could be off your licence for a year until your points are back in place.
I'm not sure how much the offence would be but I estimate approximate $180AUD. That's how much my mum got fined for...

Some signals have traffic cameras, but not all of them. However, the chances are good that your intersection didn't have one. These are really expensive and the municipalities are only putting them where the most accidents have taken place.
The cameras don't take pictures until after the light has turned red. They're then taking pictures from the light on the far side of the intersection to see who's crossing and your license plate.
In Illinois, where you have to have license plates on both ends of your vehicle, they send you a ticket in the mail with your picture as you were driving through the light. If you do it here, try to smile.

Not all lights have cameras installed. If they do you usually see the flash when you go thru and if you are caught by them, then yes they will enforce the fine.

Some do, some don't. Usually large intersections do, besides that all you can really do is wait for the ticket.

some lights have cameras some don't you would have to go back to the intersection to see if there is a camera there or not. the camera dose not care that you are a new driver and you think you were not being reckless, all it knows is you ran a red light. If there was a camera you will have to pay a fine it depends on where you live on how much it is where i live they are almost $500. In most areas you have the option to go to traffic school and that will keep the points of but you have to pay for that to

Intersections with cameras are required (at least where I live) to have a sign telling you about the camera. In New Jersey, the law is that if you're in an intersection and the light changes to amber, you're safe. If you enter an intersection on amber and it changes to red while you're still in the intersection, you are considered to have run the light and can be sited.

More and more have cameras, but in Scottsdale, the camera capitol of the world, we have six on the freeway and six or seven on the surface streets, in a huge city. There is a spray you can get at www.phantomplate.com that you can spray on your plate so any camera's flash will bounce right off. It's about $30

If a stoplight has a camera installed it will have a sign saying "Photo Enforced" a block or so before. You would see a flash as you go through. The camera is fairly obvious too. The ticket would come within a month if you were photographed. Hope not. I hate those things!

No not all. Some do though. If you were caught, they will mail the tick to the registered owner of the vehicle. If your address has changed they will get you when you renew your registration.
