Beaded seat covers...why are they deemed dangerous?
want one for my mobility scooter captains seat but have been told they are dangerous now.....why?
Well, beaded seat covers can be dangerous if in an automobile accident. For example, since the seat cover is hard, and beaded it can cause more spinal damage if you were in a collision. If you were to have a soft seat cover in a car then the damage would not be as harsh on your spine. Now as it concerns a mobility scooter the seat cover could come apart on the seat (snagged) and the beads may come lose. If that happens then the person in the chair roll over the beads by accident and cause injury to themselves or others. Also I believe it is also a comfort issue.
